      This is very true which may be why it is hard to try fixing the real estate problem with rent control. The supply and demand are constantly changing in this industry and at times with growing economies in certain places, the supply can not match the demand. Also when it comes to the people renting or supplying the houses that arent super rich, they have to make their money and can not afford lowered rent in certain areas.

    2. Social ownership protects against political changes hostile to the presence of low-income resi-dents. That is a very long-term and expensive solu-tion, but taxes on land value or land rent would be one very fair way to raise the money.

      I see how this would work in theory but at the same time , I think it would be problematic and would essentially turn into section 8 housing. I dont think this would stop gentrification either because wealthier people would most likely not want to live in a house owned by the community. This would eventually lead to one class living here while upper class move to other communities.
