Men who were poor and African American, without resources and with few alternatives, they believed they had found hope when they were offered free medical care by the United States Public Health Service. They were betrayed.
The reality hurts. However, it is the truth and it tells the history of America. Many people with low socioeconomic status and of undeserved communities are taken advantage of for their lack of understanding and education. It is good to see how much psychological experiments have grown in being more ethical!

I do not think scientific research is a basic concept. To me scientific research is the foundation to conducting research. Similar to the scientific method, a procedure in which scientist take to get a better understanding of human behavior and much more.
