      great description!!

    11. Anxiety is a well known emotion that's felt, especially when we feel unsure about things. Looking into the artworks content, the subject matter is the woman with a grim and unsettling look on her face, followed by men who have a distorted look on their faces. There seems to be at least five men who are present. The allegory is seen in the woman as she sees to be holding the men's emotions, which is undoubtedly something that anxiety implements into one's mindsets as it can make you carry and hold those emotions for others unknowingly. The form is seen in the sky, as it shows swirl-like colors, which can seem that way due to a cloudy memory, as you can't exactly tell which way the sky is moving. The colors are seen in a blended way, so it's an in between feeling. The symbolism viewed from the woman and the group of men on the bridge, which also showcases the unsettling and quiet feeling that further adds to the image as well.

    2. Delacroix is known for being able to capture emotion and passion, but even in a piece like this, he still manages to give a sense of feeling to it.

amazing how he can add a vibe to any scene!!

    3. Paintings with black areas and deep shadows were intensely illuminated, typically from a single light source. This style was more compositional, using deep darkness as a sort of negative space, while shining intense light in other areas creating what's known as "dramatic illumination".

      this makes me so happy!!

    2. very distinctive form original to Van Gogh, and it is still very evident until today, that if we look at a painting we can clearly tell it is his.

      so true!!

    3. It is so cool how beautiful it can be. To appreciate something off of its essence rather than its literal physical appearance. For me impressionism is something very close to my heart, it touches my soul and emotion, and I want people to see those beautiful paintings like I do

      nice connections - very inviting!!

The sculptures weight is on one of his leg and has a twist from his torso and arms creating angles that makes the statue look like it’s about to move. Its large scale which is over 14 feet tall making it the focal point of the room and draws peoples attention immediately to the body. The muscles and veins are carved so realistically that makes David look lifelike and strong. The dynamism of his pose also makes it seem like David is ready for action.

    3. ext, Anderson does not utilize the entire canvas, but focuses his art in the middle and leaves a lot of negative space towards the bottom and top left corner.

      great observations!!

    4. The lines become more condensed in the middle of the piece, which creates the focal point of the drawing and may be the reason for this piece’s name, as it looks as if there is a city among all those lines. On the left side, there are lines that lead to what looks like another city in the distance. This is not the case on the right however, as the right side gives the effect of a wall that the perspective is drawn from.

i love the way it messes with our perceptis.

    5. It seems as if the lines are moving to the right, and the dark gray background on the left side makes it look like a different atmosphere that the lines are in compared to the white background. The lines are darker on the left as if they are sinking into or combining with the dark background, but they aren't as dark on areas where the lines have the white background.

      great observations!!

    6. The lines create collisions with each other throughout the piece and also create a repetitive pattern. Pollock utilizes the space of his canvas to its max, leaving minimal negative space, and also something interesting he does in this work is that there is no single focal point.

      all great observations!!

    7. Cave of Lascaux where there are many paleolithic cave paintings from around 15,000 B.C.E. de Kooning had recently just come back from a trip to see those cave paintings and afterward was inspired to create this piece. T

    8. Each section describes a different landscape than the other, but when put together, they create unity. There are many areas in the piece where depth is used to liven the landscape, such as the right side where it looks like a mountain is forming towards the center,

    1. The ominous shadows in the background, the unsettled water, the actions of the people that are almost just silhouettes, and the shrouded moon all raise questions about a storm that is about to start or end. T

    2. here’s multiple crashes into this sea of ice as it seems, which gives a secondary meaning that this place may be prone to shipwrecks. There is an uneasy feeling created from the depiction of blood staining the ice and possible littered limbs.

      wow!!

    3. The graves could also be significant to the artist in a way, either by their personal culture or by knowing someone that may be buried at the gravesite

      interesting!!

    4. Although it’s usually depicted people liked the Church’s sudden increase in political power, many people including John Constable believed the Church shouldn’t have a place in England’s government. This may be why the clouds look so threatening, and the cathedral looks so ominous, shrouded by the darkness of the clouds.

      great context connection!!

    5. The campfire seems to be foreshadowing the eventual eruption of the volcano in the distance, as it’s made up of fire and smoke and the volcano in the distance has smoke.

      good one!!

    6. The next few artist’s pieces all have a heavenly feel: using warm colors, blurring, and light to enhance the beauty of their landscape pieces.

      interesting!

The centermost black circle is then encircled by the orange circle with black stripes, then by the black circle partially obscured by the fish, then by the outer ring of the plate. These circles are then trisected into equal parts by three different fish, all unique yet occupying similar areas.

    2. There are different hues of green with complimentary purple. Her tears are the focal point and show the deep intensity of despair that she is feeling within. There are sharp lines in the painting that tie further into her emotions. We can see different shapes of the eyes as one is sideways and the other is regular with black, which shows the different sides of sadness.

this is a good form analysis!

    3. The woman in the painting is Dora Marr, a French photographer he was in a relationship. Their complex relationship caused her a lot of suffering,

      good specific context

    4. She looks dissociative but sad. She is wearing a coat which fits her modern time and a beautiful hat. The hat worn inside covering the sides shows that she's not too interested in conversation. Her expression is dissociative but depressing as she gazes off into her mug, across an empty chair, in a room that lacks connection and interaction.

your empathy here is very clear!

    5. {Content}: Stanczyk is sitting alone in the room with a jester costume on while a party or event is going on. There are crumbled-up newspapers in the background of this poorly lit room. He is sitting with a look of concern and despair as his body looks tense but his eyes gloomy. He is in an isolated state as the weight of his oppressed country weighs on his shoulders. He feels the impact of his country as he stares off into the distance, tuning out the noise from the other room. {Context}: This painting was created in the 19th century during the oppression of Poland that was caused by Russia taking over Smolensk. The country was struggling as a whole and it was uncertain what the future would bring

these are both good summaries, but they are missing the analysis using vocabulary.

    6. It's such an intriguing emotion because of how largely it impacts someone's life. It can make it difficult to do the easy things and send one's mindset into cycles we feel stuck in. I want to express the importance of acknowledging this emotion and being able to understand it.

I like the idea of empowerment!

    1. "What memories does this artwork evoke for you?" and "How can you apply the lessons of love depicted here in your own life?" By inviting visitors to engage actively with these concepts, I aim to create a lasting impact that encourages self-discovery and personal growth, ultimately creating a more compassionate world

I always think of Rembrandt as a solid dude.

    5. This painting can be seen as both a personal testament to their love and a strategic move to solidify his status within the upper echelons of society.

does that reduce the love aspect do you think?

    6. The popularity of such images reflects the societal values and artistic tastes of the time, offering modern viewers insight into how love was idealized and portrayed during this time

      good point

    7. This transformation can be seen as both an expression of vulnerability and a commentary on the challenges faced by women artists seeking autonomy in their work. "The Waltz' serves as a poignant reflection of both Claudel's personal experiences and the societal constraints of her time, i
