    1. flexibility

Being able to adapt is such a vital part of being an effective OT practitioner (reminds me of the dinosaur analogy).

    2. Humor is an excellent way to diffuse tension, although if not careful can come across as sarcastic or not respectful.

So true!! Such an important thing to understand.

    4. Demonstrates functional level of confidence and self assurance.

I really appreciate the way in which you have articulated this. Sometimes students and even practitioners say things like "I didn't learn anything in OT school except on fieldwork," and the truth is much more in alignment with what you have said here. Your maturity in thought and an internal locus of control - which is so important in clinical reasoning and communication - really shines through here.

    5. I also found the runs to provide me time to self-reflect and process the work day in order to "leave work at work."

Yes, yes, yes! You have provided clear evidence of the power of "white space" and the power of reflection, as well as incorporating life balance as a personal and professional value.

    6. I've also learned the value of having team members with different strengths than mine.

This is such a wise statement. I heard a quote the other day that I think relates well to this: "Diversity is what gives us strength; a common purpose is what gives us power."

    7. more important to implement feedback when possible.

A very well-made point! I've noticed that this is a strength of yours and am glad that was recognized in the field as well.

    8. However, in the scope of being a leader change agent, I think of giving feedback to peers and other professionals.

A unique and very valid perspective! This statement highlights growth in your critical thinking skills - very well done!

    1. "She had exceeded expectations in the second of her fieldwork, taking information gained in the evaluation process and applying it not only to treatment sessions, but to the patient's discharge planning as well. For example, in the burn center, we recently had a patient with autism. Morgan took her knowledge of autism spectrum disorder and applied it to the evaluation process, making her treatment sessions effective and appropriate. I have been very impressed at the growth she has made in this category." -Tess G., OTR/L

Bravo!! You are going to be a spectacular OT practitioner!!

    2. Additionally, evidence has shown that when interventions are occupation based and done in context, the ability to generalize the skill increases.

Fantastic! This is a huge part of the distinct value of occupational therapy. I am so proud that you were able to bring occupation and motivation into the fold so well, even in a typically largely biomechanically-focused setting.

should be upper-case (Blackboard is a brand name.)

    4. the confidence

This confused me a little at first read. I think it may be clearer to say "... without instilling the confidence ..." or "However, a client also needs confidence in order to be able to adequate perform those skills, and so that needs to be a focus of intervention as well."

    5. Maintaining the ability to engage in occupations throughout the life span is a key factor in promoting health and prevent disease and disability.

You are speaking the language of not only the OTPF (3rd ed.) but also AOTA's Centennial Vision/Vision 2025 here.

    6. More importantly, I was able to learn from other professionals to help inform and influence my group topics and individual treatments.

      Excellent point!!

    7. Wow! You really started off with a "bang," Morgan! This paragraph is so powerful, so holistic, and so very client-centered. Bravo!!
