Failing the second time made things worse, so perhaps to protect myselffrom my doubts, I stopped taking English seriously.
Sometimes we overthink things or get in our heads. Even being overly confident can cause chaos where chaos doesn't need to be. Taking a step back and just saying whatever let's wing this thing works out better.
