I think it is important to keep things that are unprofessional off of social media. However, I could see how sharing some positive content would make you stand out to your employers. For example, sharing professional achievements might make you stand out as a more competitive applicant. You could also share volunteer opportunities or engagement in within your profession.

There are drawbacks to not utilizing social media, but it's crucial to keep things in perspective. Some choose to maintain a low profile online and make up for it by networking at conferences, industry events, or through more conventional job seeking techniques. Making sure you're still actively interacting with your industry and possible employers in a way that works for you is crucial.
