    1. A note of caution is appropriate with regard to using medicines for stress relief. Many of the medications that are useful for stress relief are also addictive. Serious behavioral and health problems are possible and even likely to occur as a result of using such substances unless care is exercised.

      Medication like this is so ignorant in my opinion. The risk far outweighs the gain and it just seems like a prescription doctors can sign off on to fill their pockets.

    1. Well, stress is firmly rooted in a basic survival instinct more commonly known as the ‘fight or flight’ response.

      The Fight or Flight response comes up again and again while searching stress although I don't agree with it. I'm no scientist but stress for me is just a reminder of awareness when it comes to dangers or things on my to do list to deal with.

    1. The body responds in essentially the same way to made-up imagery as it does to real experiences. Positive, relaxing images can be an effective tool for relieving stress.

      I've never heard of this way to release stress. Iv'e just heard the methods of taking breaths, walking it out, or some other corny phrase that probably wont even work for me.

    1. Exercise has a lot of positive outcomes such as weight control, prevention of illness and a lot more. Physical activity happens to be one of the effective ways to deal with stress and depression.

      I feel like exercise is one of the things that causes stress for Americans. It just gives you another thing on your plate to worry about when going throughout your day.

    1. As noted, stress is difficult to define because it is so different for each of us.

      This explains why some methods for releasing stress don't work for everybody but do for others.
