Increasing rates of human-caused species invasions and extinctions may reshape communities and modify the structure, dynamics, and stability of species interactions.
The spread of invasive species (living organisms not originally found in a specific ecosystem) causes disruptions to wildlife in a variety of ways. Some examples include outcompeting native plants or animals for resources and food, or carrying diseases harmful to native species.
