    1. climate finance or aid from advanced industrialized countries to historically exploited and impov-erished post-colonial countries should not be considered charity or philanthropy, but rather as accountability and respon-sibility

      This !!

    2. critical climate justice can only be achieved through working with others in collectives, both local and international

Bc realistically, pollution from one country doesn't just affect that one country. Borders are just concepts, so we need to make a group effort on this.

    3. There are no easy or quick fixes in pursuing critical climate justice

Interesting that this article started by saying that fast action IS possible bc of the COVID rsponse.

    4. Vulnerable communities are not homogenous; instead, they are gendered inter-sectionally (by class, race, Indigeneity, migrant status, etc.)

So here they're defining gender as any grouping of similar people?

    5. They have raised awareness of theimportance of paying attention to the differential gendered burdens and harms worldwide

Many climate pollution issues affect children and pregnant poeple first, which is the birth of this trend I believe

    6. Some scholars have argued that wealthier countries owe post-colonial countries a climate debt due to historical and con-temporary unequal ecological exchange and the colonization of the atmosphere by colonial and imperial states

Kinda agree tbh but idk how realistic this is or how you calculate what the value of this should be

    7. Climate justice approaches seek to expose the root causes of climate change to address and dismantle these systemicissues and structures in different ways

This is something that should be obvious but def needs to be said and done

    8. Accountability and obligations, as well as ethics and human rights, are integral to climate justice

And I'm worried that the people who need to do these things most will not.

    9. Historical and geographical differences are highlighted and brought to the forefront in dis-cussing climate justice. Colonialism, capitalism, and globalization are imbricated in the production of uneven climateinjustices, and critiques of these interlocking systems are increasingly included in climate justice scholarship

Reminds me of the Davidson Catawba corn project!

    10. A climate justice approach focuses on who benefits, who loses out, in what ways, where, andwhy. It is an explanatory tool that helps better explain the relationships at different scales that co-create and maintaininjustices

From my own standpoint, I love this. From a devil's advocate stance, this is another way for white people/white men to find a way to feel "discriminated against" (obvs not real but we all know what we do.

    11. The goals are to reduce marginalization, exploitation, andoppression, and enhance equity and justice.

So much of climate justice involves environmental racism and discrimination

    12. that drastic and rapidresponse to climate change is possible.

I didn't really keep up with other country's responses to the pandemic but in America there was a response but there was also a LOT of dissent and it turned very political very fast. I worry about this with climate action. This said, it's necessary for something to happen.

    13. While IPCC assessments over several decades have warned how rapidly climate change has been occurring and theincreasing need to halt rising global temperatures, action has been tragically slow

This is like all of ENV Justice and ENV in general in one sentence.

    1. TheNAS report, scheduled to be released in mid-2020, is expected to propose a research agendaand suggest research governance approaches laying the groundwork for US federal fundingof solar geoengineering research

As is always the case when I read these articles from the past, I want to know what the report has to say now that it has supposedly been out for 3 years

    2. stablishing an external advis-ory board to legitimize their plans for outdoor field experiments

Honestly it makes sense for colleges to head up these charges if it's so experimentational
