Chapter 20 we see the story come back to where it started on the steps of her porch but we see that she is now at peace with herself that she has gained the confidence and courage to be alone she is satisfied with the life she has lived and is ready to settle down and live at peace with what adventure she has experienced.

Chapter 19 this shows the changing nature of humans when under extreme conditions like rabies. We see teacake slowly starts getting more aggressive and less active. We then get to the climax as he raises his gun at Janie ready to shoot and we feel the absolute shock after she shoots him it’s a roller coaster of emotions. The theme of this chapter shows love, tragedy, and the will to survive

Chapter 18 we see a very pivotal chapter here as they compare the overwhelming power of the hurricane the rath and fury it possesses compared to the little power of humans. This chapter really brings together the title and the story as it shows that Janie can barely control her life very little power and freedom but the power of the storm the overwhelming complete power of Tod is over her and this demonstrates the reason why “ there eyes at on God” it brings a complete circle to the story.

Chapter 17 we see the pressure teacake is under and the jealousy we see him hit Janie as others admire him for it. We also see the jealousy he has as Mrs turner pushes Jaime towards her brother.

Chapter 16 here we see though the community almost looked perfect it is no where near that. In the under belly it is full of racism and division. People like Mrs turner trying to put herself or her brother above people like teacake cause they have lighter skin following the social norm of racism.

Chapter 15 we see the complicatedness of a real love relationship. We see Janie’s jealousy erupt from her overwhelming love for teacake and we see her question him with urgency to know if he stills loves him. I think this feeds off of the gossip and rumors that she almost believed

Chapter 14 we see there love blossoming as they choose to run away together to the Everglades. We also see the playful nature that everyone interacts and the live teacake has as he longs for her even when he sees her in the evenings

Chapter 13 we see that even though teacake is kind and sweet and looks like the perfect man from her childhood dreams he’s not perfect he is still young and reckless and messes up. We also see the fear that the townspeople have put in Janie’s head of him running away with the money. So a small rift as started to stack open the messy inside of there relationship.

Chapter 12 though the gossip is spreading and the rumors are damming Janie and teacake stay true to there love. But we also see this new type of confidence that she exerts we see that she is willing to follow a daring plan for love and that she has grown since the beginning of just listening to her nanny and marrying who she wants and running away for necessity we now see her true lay follow her childhood dream of love even if that means leaving her home.

Chapter 11 we see the tension grow as the townspeople gossip about there relationship we also see the confusion of love and questioning. though we eventually see the them get together from love in the dating stage

Chapter 10 we see the breathe of fresh air as tea cake meets her emotional need and they have this almost instant bond as they play checkers together and drink and he even walks her home we just see the man of Janie’s childhood dreams almost a real love blossoming.

Ch9 we see Janie change her life around. We also see that she finally has freedom that she can do whatever she wants but we also see her having an outward mourning period for her husband.

Ch 9 We see the community rebuke her by believing the rumor that she is posing Jody. We also see the freedom she has when he dies we see her let her hair down as a symbol of independence and freedom

After coming to terms that the fact that she was out of love she starts increasingly talking back. As she gets older she realizes that her husband is sick and wants to leave.

We see Janie want to help the mule and when her husband buys it she has hope that her husband cares. But much like the mule Jody just feeds the mule and like Janie Jody just feeds her and dose not let her have an emotional connection or a life making her realize this marriage is not a good one.

Chapter 5 we see here Jody pushing her to the sidelines as he gets all the glory. Janie’s hopes crushed by a man who promised her everything as he claims she knows nothing.

Chapter 4 Jody woes Janie with his words of freedom and being treated better. We see here Jody making her question her marriage with Logan and her desire for freedom

Chapter 3 we see Janie’s mindset grow as she realizes that marriage and love are not the same we see her fantasies of a perfect marriage with love crumble as she cries here

Chapter 2 we see here the nanny and Janine argue we see the protectiveness of the nanny wanting to have her married to be safe but we also see Janie’s struggle for freedom and for love.
