    1. There will be no end to this catalogue. The ogres are everywhere. Number thirteen: Alibhai M. Moosajee of Mombasa.

more connections to pokemon: there are always new pokemon with no end in sight

    2. When the wife was rescued by her human kin, her human–looking child was also saved, but Kiptegen was burnt alive.

This Ogre makes me think that not all ogres are necessarily bad, but the humans of this world arent willing to take that chance. Kinda like Shrek (side note, I love shrek)

    3. Katandabaliko

This one the most seems like a pokemon to me. Pokemon names usually are portmateau, and this ogre's name has "katana" in it. These descriptions are written just like pokedex entries too. It talks about their powers, where they live, and how they feed.

This one specifically reminds me of the pokemon Froslass. "When it finds humans or Pokémon it likes, it freezes them and takes them to its chilly den, where they become decorations."

    1. Who cares about stupid bumper, we’re going to get a new car soon anyway, when rich, right?

I would do the same thing as a kid. I've learned the value of items since being young, but as a child I didn't understand why we couldn't just "get a new one"

    1. From the mystery unavoidably investing it, the popular solution of the foundling’s fate involved more or less of supernatural agency. But some few less unscientific minds pretended to find little difficulty in otherwise accounting for it

and i suppose this means that nobody even cared banadonna died

    2. Bannadonna lay, prostrate and bleeding, at the base of the bell which was adorned with girls and garlands. He lay at the feet of the hour Una, his head coinciding, in a vertical line, with her left hand, clasped by the hour Dua. With downcast face impending over him, like Jael over nailed Sisera in the tent, was the domino; now no more becloaked. It had limbs, and seemed clad in a scaly mail, lustrous as a dragon-beetle’s. It was manacled, and its clubbed arms were uplifted, as if, with its manacles, once more to smite its already smitten victim. One advanced foot of it was inserted beneath the dead body, as if in the act of spurning it.

Yo this dude made a robot and it killed him. This is like some crazy ancient idea of artificial intelligence trying to take over and kill humans. Guess people will always fear what they dont understand

    3. But as he suffered no one to attend him in these inspections, he concealed the blemish

Why would he cover it up instead of try to fix it? He seems to be a ruler of some kind, so why not just push the blame onto it like so many other rulers do?

    1. Only get rid altogether of your nonsensical trash about the beautiful, which I nor nobody else, nor yourself to boot, could ever understand,–only free yourself of that, and your success in life is as sure as daylight

This quote really highlights how horribly owen is being treated, and how nobody understands his work
