    1. Games as play are social eco-systems and personal experience, and these dimensions are key aspects of awell-rounded literacy.

Games in this sense also promote individual's social skills if they are playing with other individuals or trying to explain the game to someone else. The individual needs to use the proper vocabulary and word order in order to get their point across which comes into play involving literacy.

    2. Games are notjust about following rules, but also about breaking them,

This seems to connect well with the idea in "Gamify Literacy" where students do not fear failing at a game. If they know they can go into a game and break the rules and fail, then they will take those risks because there is no fear associated with it.

    2. Knowledge so acquired can subsequently be tested in examinations.

Couldn't it also be said that a combination on text and lecture is tested in examinations and not just the utilization of textbooks?

    3. It positions the teacher as an authority figure and the student as a beneficiary of the knowledge they convey.

This makes me think about how many have probably received their education. It was like a "listen to me give you this information, now memorize it, and then regurgitate it on a test" style.
