    1. self-terminating search, requires that the test stimulus be compared with each item on the memorized list until a positive match is made, at which point the search terminates.

Self terminating is a way longer way of actually checking to see if you have something stored in your memory. From it goes through the entire list in your mind until matched sounded way less effective than exhaustive search. This gave me memories of doing puzzles and doing a form of self-terminating and it took way longer to finish the puzzle overall. In a way it is a way to crystalize the list further in the mind if it is not concrete.

    2. For instance, the coffee mug sitting dangerously close to my keyboard is a collection of molecules. But it is also a mass of ceramic. And, of course, it is also a coffee mug. It is also my coffee mug.

This part encapsulates just how we describe things around us to other people or to ones self. We can imagine a mug but the continuous changes morphs it into a new form and more descriptions add more to our mental image. At the end adding the "my" at the end gives it more of the personality of whose it is too. We personally don't know the author but if we know the person it would can potentially change color or shape again.
