    1. We speculate that the oscillation of blood flow generates shear stress which would develop muscle stress, and the variation of muscle stress induces vasomotion. If so, the variable period of heartbeat should induce the low-frequency component and is independent of the heartbeat curve. The determination of primary variables of fluid flux and average pressure in each cross-section of vascular could predict peak pressures (Daversin-Catty et al., 2021).

Relationship between HR and IM bands

    2. It has been noted that the cardiovascular system is not a simple linear system and involves nonlinear contributions (Rajendra Acharya et al., 2006). Moreover, it was found that the oscillating blood flow in microvascular networks exhibited nonlinear behavior (Carr and Lacoin, 2000).

Non-linear relationship between HR and IM bands

    3. Adding white noise and then stopping would induce an SNR increase in the frequency band related to vasomotion (∼0.1 Hz).

      Noise in IM band

    1. This has also been demonstrated by recent results of Pfurtscheller et al. who showed that different levels of fear processing occur at LFa and LFb

      Fear influences LF oscillations.

    2. respiration should be included, since blood flow to the skin and respiration are known to interact intensively6.

      Blood flow and respiration.

    3. These include the hormonal circuits (HPA axis) regulating blood volume, blood pressure, and vascular tone (renin—angiotensin system; epinephrine and norepinephrine; etc.).

      Influencers of blood flow.

    4. More recently, PPG signals frequently served as an undemanding source for the study of rhythms related to cardiac and respiratory activity (see59). On the other hand, methods such as laser Doppler devices proved valuable in physiological studies investigating frequency response characteristics of sympathetically mediated vasomotor activity60.

LDF OVER PPF advantages. LDF has advantages for vasomotors.

    5. The control group showed a clear increase for IM band phase desynchronizations by the end of the experimental session which may be related to the duration of relaxation experienced as tedious since the optimal duration of relaxation should be limited to 7 min

Relaxation should be limited to 7minutes? How does this effect us when the user needs to sit still for 1-2 hours?

    6. When combined with established high-resolution algorithms for the analysis of frequencies (e.g., continuous wavelet scalograms), our novel methodology presented here on high resolution of dynamic phase changes should greatly expand and therefore improve the study of rhythmic coordination processes.

      Outcome of study.

    7. However, there is evidence that while IM band activity and respiration are closely related processes, they are yet distinct10,43

IM bands and respiration are closely related, but distinct.

    8. The estimated noise was then subtracted from the original signal, eliminating other undesired artifacts, and preparing the signal for further processing and analysis.

Noise identification --> subtraction from mother wavelet

    9. Daubechies – db5 wavelets
    10. Suppression of these artifacts was achieved using the stationary wavelet transform (SWT)39–41. Prior to SWT denoising, the signal was downsampled to the sampling frequency of 5 Hz.

    11. Low-frequency oscillations exhibit spatially variable amplitudes, which depend on the site of the PPG probe.

    1. Anagen begins when the hair follicle stem cells (HFSCs) obtain sufficient activation cues to overcome suppressive signals, mainly the BMP pathway, from their niche cells.

[Stem cells + Activation cues > BMP pathway (supressive signaling] = Anagen initiation

    2. Hair follicles (HFs) undergo cycles of degeneration (catagen), rest (telogen), and regeneration (anagen) phases.

      HF: Cell cycle; Catagen-->Telogen--->Anagen.
