    1. As part of their project, student researchers critically examined how schools“push” students out of school through problematicpedagogical practices and policies and how schoolsmight be constructed to better support students.

This can really impact many students researchers because they can also contribute to how schools can better support students. I believe student input is very important and their input should be taken to an account because schools cannot be pushing students to want to drop out. I feel like many of them already have a lot of things going on that they do not need more factors to contribute to them wanting to dropout.

    2. are more segregated nowthan they were in 1954 when the Supreme Court deemedlegal segregation unconstitutional

This is what calls my attention. There have been many civil rights movement, such as Brown v. Board of Education (1954) and more but yet we are still segregated by class and race. We need to figure out a way to break segregation between schools and give equitable education to students who do not have as much support and resources. We need to improve academic success of students of color by trying to diminish the categorize of schools.

    3. urban youthof color vividly demonstrated by the practice of placingpolice officers, security cameras, metal detectors and thelike in schools, illustrates the mind-set and the role thatschools play in contributing to and reifying the school-to-prison pipeline.

In my opinion, schools that do this are preparing children for failure. They make students feel like they are entering a hostile environment. This reminds me of an example, in which young student state tests outcomes have been used previously to determine how many jails should be built as if one test score can determine that. I see how there are such low expectations for students however this also can be seen as safety regards but students should feel like they are entering a welcoming environment to learn. We have learned so many things about inclusivity this quarter that I feel like this approach is wrong.
