In no other circumstance could extremely famous and renouned artists such as Pablo Picasso, or Georges Braque have created their iconic visual masterpieces if not for the direct influence of the extreme global circulation of people and objects.

When the world's people met and mixed, new cultures, art, and people were made, enriching the future.

I wonder what qualities these works may have had at the time that allowed them to appeal to our western standard, our "categories". Might we be able to find similarities in works we enjoy from multiple different cultures?

Could we identify shifting patterns in art trends over the years, per culture, by identiying what work from other countries has the most appeal?
