This article made me reflect back to a question in one of our assignments in regards to how would the perspective be changed if someone were to figure out that a comment were from a bot rather than a human. Reading that the Super Bowl advertisements were reflected on engagement being over 75% is shocking to hear and the controversy that can come from this is very significant especially towards the topic of X as this is the social media platform that applied the "biggest" topic and relevance. This also makes me wonder how these types of situations will deal with the criticism when events turn out in the wrong. Does their reputation continue to go down in the long-run? Or do people eventually forget and move on from the topic.

    1. Images are created by defining a grid of dots, called pixels. Each pixel has three numbers that define the color (red, green, and blue), and the grid is created as a list (rows) of lists (columns).

I was surprised to read this and learn that a simple image can have complicated data that is digested by the computer in order to calculate each detail within the picture. It makes me wonder if there are any limits to how much information a computer can take in from an image that has a significant change in their size and details. I did not realize the variety of pixels that can be used to comprehend each factor within a photo that is recognized on the screen.

I was surprised to see that there are people out there that can imitate certain features that are similar to a bot. The 100 hundred iPhones displayed in the image in this article shows a reality where humans themselves can automate as a bot in which it seems that regardless of the conditions people will go to a further extent to manipulate their chances of being successful.

    1. On the other hand, some bots are made with the intention of harming, countering, or deceiving others. For example, people use bots to spam advertisements at people.

I usually see advertisements demonstrating usage of bots very often and this made relate this to the study of consequentialism. We recently learned about a variety of ethics, and this made me wonder if consequentialism may be applied in these certain situations. This also makes me wonder how many individuals create these bots without considering the issues behind this.

    1. This means that media, which includes painting, movies, books, speech, songs, dance, etc., all communicates in some way, and thus are social. And every social thing humans do is done through various mediums

This is an interesting way to approach and identify what can be considered as social media as this also means that any other activity that can create some sort of interaction with another individual can be a form of social media. I did not see this perspective in the definition of social media adjusting to various activities as I viewed social media to be only virtual platforms that can be used to interact such as Instagram or Facebook. On the other hand, it seems that social media can not only be applied virtually but also physically as it can be demonstrated in every lifestyle.

    1. Why did so many people see it?

There are multiple reasons to why a tweet such as the one Justine Sacco posted went viral and one, I wanted to point out is the time she put out her comment in public. I noticed that she posted this twee at 10:19 AM and wondered if the morning is when twitter users are usually online which may have been a reason to why so many were able to find her message.
