    1. List at least three ways you may be able to increase your cultural awareness and understanding of diversity on your campus.

Three diversifying ways I may be able to increase my cultural awareness, and understanding more about the differences of people on the campus of CCAC, is

      1. Explore the culture of some of the people who has a different race than me, for example if one wants to teach me how to make a cultural form of art, I have overall learned more about culture than I did before.

      2. In a self-exploring way, I could do research on types of cultures that I could be interested in, such as perhaps a Chinese culture, where I could learn about the birth of the "Bonsai tree", and many topics covering the culture of the Chinese.

      3. One last way is I could go outside, and see how the culture from the 20th century, (looking at pre 1999 architecture) and comparing it to post 21st century architecture. Doing this shows the differences in culture from just a structure.

    2. Is it a cultural observation or a stereotype to say, for example, that Mexicans are more relaxed about time commitments than Americans? (Think a minute before answering. How would you justify and explain your answer if challenged? Could both answers be right in some way?)

I believe it is an overall subjective observation, as I am not familiar with this form of "stereotype" or "observation" in comparing the races of Americans, and Mexicans.

    3. List several characteristics of your own cultural background that may be different from the cultural background of some others on your campus.
I used to live in Arizona for 9 years, but I was born in Pittsburgh. I lived mainly in a Spanish culture, never had to wear heavy clothing, and I visited California. In which I saw a lot more of a cultural difference, mainly Asian, and Spanish cultures. which may be different from another student at CCAC, who was raised entirely in Pittsburgh.

    4. Write a description of someone who is of a different race from yourself but who may not be different ethnically.
One who is a different race from me, so in this case I will choose Chinese. But they were born in America. So, that is an example of one who is of different race, but similar ethnically.

    5. List as many types of diversity as you can think of.
Diversity in trigonometry, Diversity in angles, Diversity in rates of change, Diversity in topology, Diversity in Geometry, and Diversity in algebra.

Each one is a branch of the same tree, but each is a different form of it. Which metaphorically describes the entire article perfectly, humans can be different, but they are part of the main tree of humanity.

    6. If you are in the dominant cultural group on your campus, write a paragraph describing values you share with your cultural group. Then list things that students with a different background may have difficulty understanding about your group. If your racial, ethnic, or cultural background is different from the dominant cultural group on your campus, write a paragraph describing how students in the dominant culture seem to differ from your own culture. Look back at what you just wrote. Did you focus on characteristics that seem either positive or negative? Might there be any stereotypes creeping into your thinking? Write a second paragraph focusing on yourself as a unique individual, not a part of a group. How would others benefit from getting to know you better?
According to a source I've found online, 42% of students at CCAC are white. Hence, I am part of the "dominant cultural group" I am not a very social person, I don't discuss values, I discuss ideas. I share these ideas to whomever might be interested in them, not if they're part of my "dominant cultural group". Things students could have differently than me is being raised in a different household, taught in different schools, and potentially lived in different areas than me.

Looking back at what I wrote, I believe everything I've wrote is subjective, I don't think anything I've said represents either positive or negative, just different background, is different appearance. For the stereotypes, I didn't put that in perspective since you can't exactly stereotype something that is subjective.

Focusing on myself, Caiden Ward, other people could benefit from getting to know me as a way to explore my ideas, and interests. If we share the same interests, we can both discuss them, hence learning from each other, which is then benefiting from each other.

      Scenario3.1

You are always going to be surprised whenever you don't know what to expect. My first reaction is overall surprised, because I did not know what to expect.

      Scenario3.2

No, I expect to get to know them, like I got to know the couple previously mentioned.

      Scenario3.3

Overall, yes. Since you don't know who this person is, it may be difficult to know what to say, and how you should say it. For example, If I knew I was meeting a "Jane Doe" who likes dancing, I would have based my introductory on that.

      Scenario3.4

Yes, because knowing one or multiple details gives you a more accurate imagination than knowing no details.

    8. ____________________________________________________________________________

      Scenario2.1

No, because in this case, you were about to introduce yourself. Before two other people, whom I assume you do not know, interrupts your "plan". Hence, I would have changed plans regarding the students' race.

      Scenario2.2

In my case, whenever I decide to not do what I was planning to do, I usually ignore it entirely. To answer the "How does that make you feel now", I would have to say it doesn't really matter to me, I stopped my plan because two people approached him, whom I assume I don't know, hence I wasn't going to approach him either way after realizing that.

      Scenario1.1:

I imagined a group of people wearing some sort of mask, in hoodies, and communicating in a "mean" tone.

      Scenario1.2

I feel that I have imagined this from past experiences, whether ones I have dealt in, or ones I have seen. In this case, I imagined people in hoodies, and masks, as usually that indicates an "uncomfortable" sense, to me.
