I am shocked by how many Americans fit in this binary classification of sexual identity. I wonder how many people in the world fall into this category.

I agree with this statement as it is important to respect everyone. Everyone is made in the image of God. We must treat others how we would like to be treated

This line of the text reminds me of how we are thought to take only what we can eat like at a meal. We don't want to take more because that would be wasteful.

I have never thought that God held this wrath towards people. I see God as loving, forgiving and understanding.

Gratitude is important because of the sense of belonging it creates. Everyone likes to feel included. It is important to show gratitude to others and things in this world. To show appreciation to the world God created for us.

I like this example used in the text because it helps the author bring a point across that we can all understand. When someone hand makes you a gift, it brings so much more value than a store bought gift.

I have never heard of fasting before baptism. Only of fasting on Good Friday and Ash Wednesday. I also am curious of what is meant by living water in this chapter.

I think that this is a hard commandment and message from God to follow. When people barrow things from us, it can be very hard to not ask for these things back. Especially if it's been a long time that the person has had it.
You are called to learn from one another
I agree with this statement because we can learn a lot from our peers and elders. Not only do we learn about science, and religion, we learn so much more from other people. Others can also help us discover a lot about ourselves.
Religion is not founded on science nor is science an extension of religion.
I think this sentence makes a clear distinction between the two and reminds us we can't combined religion and science. They are two separate things.
Because it’s hard. It takes will and effort, and if you are like me, some days you won’t be able to do it, or you just flat out won’t want to.
This part of the speech stood out to me because Wallace just took a lot of time explaining situations to us that require decisions. He pointed out that in many of these decisions we dont always make the best decision on how to act. However, in this part he points out how difficult things can be and admits that everyone is not always perfect in there choices to act.
To be just a little less arrogant. To have just a little critical awareness about myself and my certainties.
I think that this is important to the reading because Wallace gives advice to the people on how to think better. People can use these tips and apply them to there life right away.
