Phishing is the attempt to steal sensitive information including passwords, usernames, or credit card information through the use of email or any other personal messaging system (e.g., text messages, a messaging app like WhatsApp, Viber, etc.).

He started to catch on when they started asking him certain information that they would not need but he already gave them access to his computer. After shutting down the internet, changing all password and running an antivirus (provided by the actual geek squad), we finally got it resolved. We were lucky we caught it intime, but others loose all their information and money through scams like this.
