      I found it interesting and saddening that a new piece of technology can be used to connect people far and wide. Was being used as a tool to gate keep and exclude others. It makes me wonder how music history would be now if black musicians had fair and equal opportunities in the broadcasting and distribution industry from the start.

      The article does a good job of pointing out how studies regarding jazz have been limited and hindered because of “US American exceptionalism.” It is causing narrow and disparaging local jazz from around the world outside of the US, making it harder to recognize the evolution of jazz as it develops in response to the cultures and historical contexts.

      Recognizing these global jazz movements doesn’t diminish American jazz but further our understanding of its impacts.

      This paragraph introduces an interesting approach to "primary and secondary sources" and whether they can be regarded as "historical facts." Even an autobiography that most would consider a primary source can't always be labeled as "historical facts"." But even if sources can't be labeled as "historical facts," they can provide great insight into the topic at hand.
