I definitely have experience with agnostic bots. Im in the swim club at UW and we use discord to communicate. Last year we started having a problem that agnostic bots invaded the server and kept trying to sell laptops and jeans of all things. We had to do a whole verification system to get rid of the bots.

Adding to the thoughts on Confucianism, there are five main relationships Confucianism teaches must be upheld to have societal harmony. The five are ruler and subject, parent and child, husband and wife(or spouse), elder brother and younger brother (sibling), as well as friend and friend. Obviously not all people fit every relationship but the general idea fits with harmonious society. Confucianism also uses the rule almost everybody has heard, Do unto others as you would have done to yourself. In this frame of ethics it is called the silver rule. The other three core virtues are mentioned in the textbook but the names are not. Compassion and kindness towards others is called REN. Proper etiquette and manners in daily life is called LI. Respect for ancestors and elders is called XIAO.

What do you think is the responsibility of tech workers to think through the ethical implications of what they are making?
I think tech workers have a responsibility to think through ethical implications. Many of these tech workers are working to make massive changes, and those have large effects on the rest of the world. I think there is an ethical obligation to really think through is this just for myself or am I really helping everybody. Further they should ask if their work is just helping one group, if so is this the right group to be helping? Tech workers should always think before inventing, if people knew I invented this, who would thank me and who would shame me for this invention. It’s not really a big deal for most tech workers but there should be a thought of, will this development harm people physically or mentally. The effect on others should always be considered.
