The Elizabeth George study included only two experienced Kindle users, and she is keen to replicate it using a greater proportion of Kindle regulars. But she warned against assuming that the "digital natives" of today would perform better.
But this is a critical weakness. Digital reading definitely does require a period of adaptation and the development of different, more intentional, strategies for "information-processing", particularly at the beginning.
Having only 2 people who might have already developed such strategies weakens the whole testing of any comparison.

If we do not use a new systemic approach, we will end up only trying to cure the symptoms but not the disease
And this is the difference between conventional health care vs "functional" or "integrative" medicine and naturopathy. The latter focus on the body as system rather than symptoms broken down by organs.
Similarly, body and brain "hacking", which has become so popular, also risk downstream negative systemic effects.
