    1. All the processions wound towards the north side of the city, where on the great water-meadow called the Green Fields boys and girls, naked in the bright air, withmud-stained feet and ankles and long, lithe arms, exercised their restive horses before the race. The horses wore no gear at all but a halter without bit.

Both the rider and the horse have no gear. Sounds painful!

    2. At times one of the adolescent girls or boys who go to see the child does not go home to weep or rage, does not, in fact, go home at all. Sometimes also a man or woman much older falls silent for a day or two, and then leaves home. These people go out into the street, and walk down the street alone. They keep walking, and walk straight out of the city of Omelas

    1. Life is short and the worldis at least half terrible, and for every kindstranger, there is one who would break you, though I keep this from my children.

Why keep it from the children? They will learn about it eventually. Life is not a fairy tale nor is it a peaceful one.

    1. What  does  it mean to be older?

I am not sure if older is the right word. We wish to be older, but all it brings is adult responsibilities. I didn't feel a magical moment when I turned 18 or 21.

There is always something worth fighting for. We all have something to accomplish in our lives whether we realize it or not.

    2. We still live in an America where, unless you belong to a church, you are a religious skeptic believing in nothing

Even if we go to church, we are not thinking for ourselves.

    3. Otherwise, we still live in an America where the audacity to openly enjoy the pleasures of sex and being respected for wisdom are contradictions without reconciliation

Story of my life. It's gotten to a point where I can't share anything without receiving criticism for what I've done in the past.

    1. We are not responsible for your lost or stolen relatives.  We cannot guarantee your safety if you disobey our instructions.  We do not endorse the causes or claims of people begging for handouts.  We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.

Sounds very familiar. History continues to repeat itself for generations.

    2. You are not presumed to be innocent if the police  have reason to suspect you are carrying a concealed wallet.

The police have no authority to assume someone is guilty without going through the court. Sadly, the country live by these rules without consequences.

As the country focus more on nationalistic values, it erases the identity of the people so that they can be fed lies through the media.
