      Jus in bello was also mentioned in Matthewes and I believe this is strategies used during war. But how effective are these strategies if they are mostly reliant in one's own discretion?

      This I feel like is a too late alternative. Peace after war is not peace considering the aftermath of war and all the death, abuse and economic challenges that follow but it does remind me of Matthewes saying peace is the end goal of all war.

      i agree with this. The term "just" implies some sort of approval even though war is wrong and results in many conseqjuences.

      this reminds me of the part of the Matthewes reading where he states the prudential guidelines for war and says that all effort must have been made to resolve the conflict and failed in order for there to be just war.
