For there to be any knowledge at all, there has to be ideology inthis sense; there has to be some preexisting agreement concerningwhat will countas knowledge, or what criteria will be used to judgenew or developing knowledges. In this second sense, ideology is adescriptive(rather than prescriptive) word, attempting to show theway things are, a whole way of life in a social group.

      This paragraph reminds me a lot on the concept of post truth. No one can form what they believe as true without there already being a pre-existing knowledge/truth before it. We then use that knowledge to develop what we believe to be true.

    1. Along the way, Stevenson adds some humor with allusions to Dylan’s songs, including his rendition of “Blowin’ in the Wind” (“The answer, my friend, is totally unclear”) and “Tangled Up in Blue” (the title of his article, “Tangled Up in Boobs”).

      I do not personally believe that using a male figure, weather he is famous or not, to advertise women's underwear is appropriate. I feel like Lady Gaga or some other female celebrity would be much more appropriate.

      This reminds me of the DirectTV commercial when it claims one bad thing will happen after another if you use cable. Like a man would wake up this bad thing would happen, and because that bad thing happened another bad thing would happen, and so on. The commercial acted as if al these things would happen because of cable.
