    1. As a result of the population disaster brought about by the Columbian Exchange, European colonists in the Americas frequently found open fields waiting for their farmers and well-fed herds of game animals waiting for their hunters.

This can also be argued on the europeans and how they would steal the farms and steal the game to hunt.

    2. American staple crops were adopted by farmers in Europe

People call it bad that the Europeans invaded this country but in the long run when it panned out, this was probably for the best. We established a huge amount of success and most of us have the roots of a European in our blood.

    3. Spanish invaders had not deliberately infected the natives with all these diseases (Europeans still had no idea at this time how viruses or bacteria worked

When they do not have the access to even figure out the virus or bacteria these people had a big challenge ahead of them to face this.

    4. Although the conquistadors focused much of their energy on Central and South America, they brought disease to North America as well.

This goes hand in hand with some of the pandemics people hav e faced in the past and even the one we are in right now. People from other countries will travel and bring it to a different continent without even knowing.

    5. Some continue to consider Columbus a heroic explorer while others regard him as a monster and accuse him of deliberate genocide.

Columbus was indeed one of the best explorers there will ever be in my opinion. If it were not for him a lot of stuff we have now maybe would not have been here. We just never know.

    1. People began to specialize in particular trades, making products for customers beyond their own families and neighborhoods.

The trades that took off at this time went much further than just families and neighborhoods. It was worldwide.

    2. Luther did not intend to split from the Catholic Church, but after his 95 Theses were translated from Latin to German, his criticism of the church and his new approach to theology caught on.

I agree with the saying of "I got 95 problems and the church is all of them." Because earlier as I said the church was not as good as they made it sound and they liked to cause problems in this time period.

    3. Printing was a Chinese invention that was improved by Johannes Gutenberg,

Gutenberg was the inventor of the press. When it arrived in China it took over especially for their language.

    4. Too many languages and local centers of power competed for dominance, and the Catholic Church (Europe’s largest landowner) was unable to exercise secular as well as spiritual power.

Europes largest landowner was the Catholic Church and I find this very interesting. As a catholic myself, reading more into this I find it very weird how members of this church acted as we should not act the way they did back in this time.

    5. The first, oldest, and largest Asian empire was China

China is still the largest and will always remain the largest as long as we are alive. They own the body and the only thing they will do is build.

    1. Despite the fact that China’s Mongol Yuan rulers abandoned many of their own traditions and adopted the ways of the people they had conquered, the ethnic Han Chinese majority continued to resent being ruled by foreigners.

This is a prime example on how people can rule another country when they are foreigners. The United States also have the people come in from across seas and take it from the natives.

    2. Confucianism is not a perfect philosophy.

This is something I like to see just because of how many people think perfect is a thing. There is no such thing as perfect in this world but you can get close. Some governments are much more stable than others but wont ever reach perfect.

    3. . Chinese language is based on characters rather than on an alphabet, and is said to be the world’s oldest continually-used writing system.

China has many things that people still know of today and how old of establishments they have that are also continuing in todays world. The language they have is one of the main examples and I find this very interesting.

    4. The earliest emperors began large public works programs including construction of what they called Long Walls which later formed the basis of the Great Wall of China

This is another example on how the public can work to build something like this and get it done. We have things like this in todays system but China in this time was ahead of the game.

    5. which lasted over two thousand years

I find this crazy because of how long this lasted. Stuff like this is astonishing when it comes to this long. There are not many more leaders or developments like this one.

    1. The British created an Indian Reserve on the other side of the Appalachians

You still see this today heavily. There are many reservations for the Native Americans in this country.

    2. Although we don’t think much about it today, in an age when knowledge changes pretty routinely and we just get used to it

This line couldn't have been said any better because no matter what happens in life you just get past it and or get used to it. Change is normal through time.

    3. Conditions were so harsh on sugar plantations that slaves generally died after about three years there.

These people are dying in almost three years of being a slave and white people who are living in this time have such a greater chance to live a full life. Life expectancy for the slaves is so much different compared to todays world.

    4. About 16 million Africans were captured and transported to European slaveholding colonies.

This is astonishing to me because 16 million people who have done nothing wrong are being treated unfair and not right. This just reminds me of the slavery down south when it happened.

    5. The Sun King occupied the French throne for 72

I think this is very interesting because you do not hear of this in the United States. Usually a ruler or leader will not be on the throne for 72 years.
