    1. To them, possibility to learn at their own pace was very important. Students have recognized the value of forums, discussions, and partnerships with others to achieve the best results.

This is an added value of using MOOCs for sure. Self-paced learning should be a tenet of blended learning. When students learn at their own pace, they can deliver the highest potential possible and this can have a positive impact in their learning process.

    2. challenging tasks make the MOOC participation more interesting: “Tasks that trigger intensive thinking are the reason why I’m glad I chose MOOC”.

This is interesting and something to think about when it comes to task design. I truly believe that provoking tasks can prompt learners to go beyond the mere content, and as a result it becomes a more meaningful learning experience.

    3. To fit a MOOC in a classroom taught course properly, it is important to value the time spent to complete a MOOC.

Aside from valuing the time spent on a MOOC, I consider it is important to strike balance between in-person instructions and remote learning activities.

    1. o do this, we need to link these pedagogical investments with the reality of the educational landscape as it now exists.

I think this is the added value of Open pedagogy because it is touch with current teaching and learning needs.

    1. Further, this principle gives learners more control, allowing them to find what they need, see where they’ve been and know what to expect.

I wholeheartedly agree with this principle because students need to be self-regulated learners and keep track of their own learning process in terms of their needs, learning goals. In the eLearning industry, this is a core concept which needs to be fostered by foreign language teacher and accomplished by language learners.

    2. Both visuals—words and images—can then be processed concurrently to facilitate retention and understanding.

This principle makes sense because I have noticed that students' retention span is about five minute so by drawing on visual words, images, and color we can keep them engaged and also convey meaning more purposefully. This has been overlooked for years, but thankfully FLTs have become self-aware about how these different modes can aid in the meaning-making process for teachers as well as learners.

    3. courses are being brought to life like never before, creating maximum impact.

This is translated into new experience which is game changer, and will impact foreign language education in so many levels. Thanks to virtual and augmented reality people are able to learn about different places through languages from one place. I truly believe that the different affordances that technology offers can help us as foreign language teachers better meet our learners' needs.

    1. that are not time-consuming to develop, and can be adapted and modified on-the-fly.

This instructional design model can easily meet the ever-changing dynamics in educations. On top of it, this offers some benefits because we can use this ID for online courses in terms of flexibility to make changes that can best meet the needs of the learners. As time goes by, and also the different learning styles students have, this model can equip FLTs with different tools to create new learning experience which can be more meaningful and purposeful for students.

    1. One of the most valuable lessons it has yielded so far is that human analysts remain essential, according to Kanaan.

Human analysts will always be the cornerstone of any process regardless of how advance technology is. I've always thought that technology might outsmart human beings at some point. What do you think about this takeaway? Do you think technology will outsmart human beings?

    2. “These very complex data analysis algorithms are giving recommendations to an intel analyst, but the analyst may not understand why the system is making that recommendation,”

These data analysis algorithms requires human-and-machine team work to have a more accurate analysis. I think this tells us how technology will aways be an ally to human being.
