I enjoyed reading this piece on your friend Abdon. It made me feel like I was also their for the interview too. I liked the part where he discusses how much his family meant to him. I also agree that family is very important. They help shape who we are as a person, and we learn a lot from our family. Whether it's good or bad. I connected with Abdon when he said that his father instilled to him his hard work ethic. It was also another connection I made with myself because I feel my father did the same for me. Your piece made me feel like I knew Abdon inside and out, which really made this special to read.

I really like this piece on your friend Josh. It was a great piece of writing that felt personal and gave me a great understanding of who Josh was as a person. I feel this piece was good because not only was I told some of his major experiences, but I learned who Josh was behind the mask. I found it amazing how someone who identifies as a introvert like Josh, is able to work a socially demanding Job. Also the part where you talked about how Josh doesn't let negative moments in his life define him. Such as the absence of his mother, and being thrown out of his home. Josh seems to be doing very well for himself, and though I don't know him, I wish and pray he continues to stay standing tall and keep working hard.

I really enjoyed reading the piece on your father Ken. I think it was nice how you gave a clear understanding of his life and experiences. Though I feel you could've went into more detail with his personal struggles like practicing for the ACT. And surviving ridicule from fellow peers because of his career choice as a nurse, I felt this piece of writing was well done. I liked also how you very blunt about some negative experiences in Kens life. Such as the event where your father and his brother disconnected and drove apart in life. Though I feel I could've received more insight on who Ken really is on the inside, I felt you did a good job describing him and his life experiences.

Growing up is hard, but it is a necessary process in life and I am just starting to figure it out.
I really can relate to this and honestly 100% agree. Being an adult makes me want to be a kid again because at least then we didn't have so many responsibilities.

This goes back to my point about the White Sox. On the surface you see a 17 games below .500 record, good for a .438 win percentage, but then if you look deeper at the farm system and the amount of money that is open to be spent on a decent free agent class this offseason, you can see why the fans are passionate and ready to get rolling into winning ways once again.
Me I'm a Cubs fan, but im not gonna lie. I'm trying to see a Cubs vs Sox World Series because the city of Chicago will go crazy!

She is even saying a picture is worth a thousand words, the old saying, by referring to it as a grammar and the ethics of seeing come through photographs.
Like the connection. We all know the old saying but glad you added an explanation to what you were saying with how photographs have their own grammar and language.

evolve into a young adult that can succeed in life in the future.
I hope you follow through with this goal and as your fellow classmate I believe you will.

Dear Nate,
I enjoyed reading your essay. I saw a different side of you I don't see in class. I liked how you were honest in your writing and gave the reader an insight of who you are as a person. I also played baseball growing up and am a fan of the game. My love for the game went away though when I was 12 and thats also the age when I stopped playing. But I still like to watch and root for the Cubs. But even though you're a sox fan, I wont judge your poor decision. Joking obviously. But I hope you really achieve your goal because its a really good goal and something i hope you follow through with.

How I represent myself impacts not only how others think of me, but also explains why I display a mask to others.
I connect with this statement. Really feels true and genuine.

“In deciding how a picture should look, in preferring one exposure to another, photographers are always imposing standards on their subjects. Although there is a sense in which the camera does indeed capture reality, not just interpret it, photographs are as much an interpretation of the world as paintings and drawings are.”(Sontag)
Good quote selection. Makes me intrigued on what you will say

I have never taken a selfie and posted that image to the public because I'm too afraid of what others might think about me.
I can relate to this also. Insecurity is big thing we as humans can relate to.
-
I'm introverted and never start up the conversation to new people.
Also am an introvert but once I'm comfortable with someone, I open up and start really talking.
-
I don't have to belong to any group and can be honest with everyone.
I hope you continue to believe in this mindset because it takes a strong will to understand individuality is something hard to not only believe but live.

Tim,
I would like to tell you that I really enjoyed reading your essay. I feel it was very honest and gave me a deeper insight on who you are as a person. I strongly agree with a lot of your main points in your writing. When you said you are an introvert and someone who feels they don't have to be a part of any social group. I also feel that way, but on the other hand. I feel that is important for as humans to have friends or people to connect with because its healthy to understand one another and our beliefs. Yes it's good to be your own person, but its also good to associate your self with people who share the same ideas with you.
