      I think the point about ease of account creation is really important because it’s usually the first real interaction a user has with a product. If the process is confusing or too long, people might just give up before even trying the actual service. I definitely agree with this part of the reading, it reminds me how important it is to remove unnecessary steps and keep things as simple as possible. It also made me think more about how I personally react to difficult sign-up processes and how much they can influence my impression of a product overall

Together, members of the local community come together to teach and learn design skills, to bring together art, crafts, computer programming, and electronics to meet the specific needs of the community, whether they might be food, energy, clothing, shelter. All of this is design, albeit without the venture capital, design degrees, and profit motive.

      I really like this perspective on design because it shows how problem-solving and creativity don’t have to come from professionals with formal training. I agree that design isn’t just about profit or big companies, it can come from communities working together to meet real needs. This makes me think differently about what counts as “design” and who gets to be called a “designer” since a lot of innovation happens outside of traditional spaces.
