    1. "I would never wish my upbringing on anyone," Mary-Kate Olsen told Marie Claire magazine. "But I wouldn't take it back for the world."

I think this is a good piece of supporting evidence for both sides so that the article remains unbiased. I think pieces of evidence such as this one are best for the type of paper we are doing and avoid any biased claims that could arise.

    2. Is it possible to be a child actor and develop normally? Only if the parents (link is external) do what is in the best interest of the child's development and well-being.

I think the ending argument is lacking here and could use better support. Ending an article in this way does not conclude the entire argument well.

    3. How does stardom affect a child's emotional growth? Are there long-term effects that will impact his or her development? What are the signs that a young star is at risk emotionally and physically?

I like the structure of ending the intro with questions and setting the reader up for what will be addressed in the essay. I think this approach will be very helpful for my essay considering there will be a lot of explanation needed for a somewhat unknown artist.

    4. Child actors often are overprotected and pampered, which can lead to difficulties in learning how to attend to everyday tasks such as scheduling, doing laundry, and cooking meals--skills that most of us acquire during our growing up years. They can feel awkward when socializing with their normal peers. In other ways, they are overdeveloped as a result of having been exposed to the fast-paced and lucrative world of show bus

I think this could be very useful for my group member's essays and I believe this is the main argument of this essay. For my essay however, this article in general does not offer much help as Austin Carlile was not a child star.

    1. being one of Broadway’s worst-selling musicals in recent years.

Definitely shows that you can't take an icon's music talents and remake them into anything else. Even as a tribute to the celebrity's life.

    2. Shakur understood the Shake-spearian psychology of inter-gang wars and inter-culturalconflict

I find this description of the roots in which his music began to be very interesting considering it ties shakespeare and psychology together in a way you wouldn't think about simply by reading poetry.

    1. Her body swayed, as she danced, as a plant sways in the water. The curves of her throat were like the curves of a white lily. Her hands seemed to be made of cool ivory.

I like this description of his love interest as it contributes well to the overall love aspect tying in with the social status of the people Dorian interacts with.

    2. If a personality fascinates me, whatever the personality chooses to do is absolutely delightful to me.

This ties in to Dorian's views on one's personal conduct as well as how people are expected to interact with one another in our society regardless of wealth and social status.

    3. I choose my friends for their good looks, my acquaintances for their characters, and my enemies for their brains. A man can’t be too careful in the choice of his enemies. I have not got one who is a fool. They are all men of some intellectual power, and consequently they all appreciate me

I think this is an interesting view on how people choose friends and enemies. I believe that this is foreshadowing the personalities and characteristics of the other characters in this story.

    4. There was something in his face that made one trust him at once. All the candor of youth was there, as well as all youth’s passionate purity.

I believe that this is Wilde's way of expressing who he wishes he could be as well as that ideal self-image that he strives for. However I think by seeking an idealized self this could come back to haunt him later on.

    1. bisexuality.

With this not being mentioned in the movie, were they simply trying to allude that this was false or were they trying to create his character in a way that they would be able to avoid the controversial discussions that this term often creates?
