    1. All three schools had plenty of technology available for students to use. The students told me they used social media and played video games at home.

I think it is important to understand that even thought this generation in schools, are growing up with technology. This doesn't mean that they fully understand the online tools given to them for education. They are both technology but used for different purposes

    1. Technology should redefine and transform learning, not just enhance it.

I agree. Technology gives us access to so many different tools at the tips of our figures. Educators just have to make sure they don't get to overwhelmed and do there research on the tools they want to use. We have access to unlimited tools.

    1. As she notes, when there is both a growing realization of structural inequities across our social systems, including and especially our educational systems, and a denial on the part of many that such inequities exist, we are reminded of how critically we should be examining our designs and design processes in higher education.

I think it is great as a society this realization. That we are becoming more critical of have inclusive our designs should be. And aware. Where it would be beneficial to learners and education. To raise awareness of the inequities in social and educational systems.

    1. Privacy violations, including unauthorized access to video and audio recordings, identification documents such as drivers licenses, and other sensitive information have also been recently documented.

I think educators just jumped to any tool they could find because of the pandemic. The pandemic was such a surprise and it cause frantic searching for tools for online learning. This caused for privacy violations. Now that we are adapting there should be more of an emphasis on student privacy and violations with proctoring. As a student you are forced to use theses tools because there is no other option.

    1. When you are looking for a new technological tool to improve teaching and learning in your classroom, it is easy to get swept away by the bells, whistles, and promises of something shiny and new.

It is important to note having all the bells and whistles doesn't mean the technology is the best option to use.

    1. Ultimately, learning and development are social processes that happen all the time, including during formal classroom instruction and informal play time during recess or an after school club

Children are picking up ideas and information all around them it doesn't stop in the classroom. Teaching doesn't have to be revolved around books but their environment.

    2. Theories provide a basis to understand how people learn and a way to explain, describe, analyze and predict learning. In that sense, a theory helps us make more informed decisions around the design, development and delivery of learning. (para. 4)

Interesting how people absorb information in different ways. There are different ways to learn and others are more effective than other for students and people

    1. For example, Pencil Code, a coding tool, does not collect or allow the sharing of any personally identifiable information. Tools funded by external sources (e.g., grants) may not collect personally identifiable data because they are not expecting a return on investment.

They are not in the business for the money which is great but I feel it is also hard to survive as a company when doing this. Don't get me wrong this is great. But when your competition is doing this it hard to compete because they have a few steps on you. I think all companies should follow Pencil codes

    2. we will explore how educational technology (edtech) tools are constantly collecting, using, and sharing personal information, what this means for you as an educator, and how you can better protect your students.

Not even in in edtech but in social media your data is collected all the time. I'm sure have had an ad for something you said you needed or wanted. For instance on night I was in the moved for salmon and I shared this information with my roommates. Before I new it on my Instagram feed ads for salmon came up. The worst part is I feel now we just find it so normalized that it is what it is.

    1. Based on the evaluation standards mentioned previously, we will introduce five tools that have excellent overall user experience.

love how they provide examples and give a little information about it each tool

    2. Try the Tool on Different Devices and BrowsersTest the tool on the operating system(s) (e.g., Windows, iOS, Android) your students will use either at home or in class to access it. For web-based digital tools, test whether the tool works on different browsers (e.g., Firefox, Safari, Chrome, Edge).

I think this is something I wouldn't of thought about. I forget that there is certain programs that look and work better on different browsers.

    3. On Tinkercad, instructions are divided into three categories: (1) starters, which cover basic operations like moving an object; (2) lessons, which teach specific functions, like combining multiple objects or hollowing shapes; and (3) projects, which contain advanced model building skills

I like how it has different categories so it is not as intimidating to use

    1. Ease of Use. When a tool is inflexible, is cumbersome in design, is difficult to navigate, or behaves in unexpected ways, it is likely to be negatively perceived by instructors and students. Comparatively, a tool tends to be more positively perceived when it feels intuitive and easy to use and offers guidance through user engagement. The ease of use criterion therefore focuses on design characteristics that contribute to user-friendliness and intuitive use.

I feel ease of use is critical to users. Its nice to have something easy to use. Online and technology can be overwhelming so its nice to have an easy base

    2. Other models aimed to measure technology integration into teaching or the output quality of specific e-learning software and platforms. Still other researchers combined models to support decision-making throughout the process of integrating technology into teaching, from initial curriculum design to the use of e-learning tools.

very cool how there is models to help guide the instructors, teachers, and students. To help chose technology to use in teaching

    3. Yet, we firmly believe that instructors should be the ultimate decision-makers in selecting the tools that will work for their courses and their learners.

I agree with this you should be the decision maker of your own tools. You have too be comfortable and there is so many different tools you can choose from.

    1. SIFT stands for Stop, Investigate, Find, and Trace:

great model to follow because not everything you see on the internet is true. So this is a great way to remind yourself to think about it and investigate the information you have found. Also I like how there is a course as well. Took a look at it its not too long to complete.

    2. Feedly, a news aggregator, can be used to gather posts from multiple sources into a single “feed.” Instead of having to go to multiple sites to check for updates, Feedly curates the latest posts and information from blogs, news sites, or social media channels you follow into a single site.

I find this pretty cool. Going to download! I like how it gives you different sources. As well how you can customize your feed on what topics you want to see information on.

    3. The following websites and blogs are a great place to find reviews and curated lists of tools:

Very cool how they give great places to start to find reviews. I like how they list some of the databases so you have a good place to start. the internet can be an overwhelming place especially when you can have many different answers at your fingertips in seconds. So this is a nice list to have to get you going in your searches
