    1. The coach asked the team physician whetherthe player was “done for the day” and was advised that theycould tape it up and that he would be fine and ready to go

The suing of the coach in thus situation does not seem reasonable. He was given permission by the team athletic trainer that the player's finger could be taped up. The coach also told the player it was up to him and it appears that he went back in. The coach is not at fault.

    2. Return-to-play medical decisions following assessment and•treatment of injurie

I have been a part of teams where teammates or myself have been rushed back from injury. This only led to more injuries and an even longer recovery time.

    3. Preparticipation physicals and screening examinations

It is important for all medical staff members and coaches to be aware of any conditions that their athletes may have and a physical provides that. The physical and screening also grants athletes permission to play, so they can see if there are any red flags. This has to be done before any participation.

    4. The court held that colleges, private schools, and publicschools have a legal duty to exercise reasonable care towardtheir students.

To me, this is a no brainer. Athletes should always have the best care when it comes having health care personnel available. Regardless of funds, every high school should have a medical staff member at every practice and game. Every university should have multiple medical staff members on campus at athletic competitions and practices.

Coaches should be held to similar standards because they can have an affect on if an athlete approaches an athletic trainers or another member of the medical staff about an injury. Coaches should have strict rules on this matter.

    6. Everyone owes a duty of reasonable care to others in thecourse of their daily lives

As a coach, it may be easy to say "that is not my job." While there are other professionals that can handle certain situations, it is important, as a coach, to direct your student athlete in the right direction. What that be an injury or mental health problems.

    7. Athletic trainers, team physicians, physical therapists, coaches, and schools all face potential liability by pro-viding medical coverage at athletic events.

I believe that this is a very good attention grabber for this article. I am not an athletic trainer, team physician, or physical therapist so I may not believe that I can be penalized like they can. This is not the case because coaches are included in that umbrella as well and it is important for me to know the information that the other professionals know.
