This article talks about Edward Snowden a former technical assistant of CIA. He leaked confidential information from National Security Agency ( NSA) of USA. His informations are termed as mal-information because of the following reasons-

1. Even through his information were true, but potentially harmful, information that is shared with the intent of causing harm or distress to NSA. He revealed information from NSA without their permission .

2. It is a leak. Even though it is true, the impact of this is negative as this is done without consent.

This article illustrates the issue of misinformation news spreading through WhatsApp in India and its real-world consequences. One person died and others were brutally beaten because someone spread a video in a whatsapp group accusing the victims as child abductors. This spreading rumours through whatsapp can be labelled as a misinformation for the following reasons- 1. The victims were falsely connected with this misleading information. 2. The victims threw chocolates to a group of children from their. The villagers misinterpreted this rather innocuous act and then spread misinformation ( knowingly or unknowingly ) among themselves.

This article is a very good reason for us to start fighting false information as it can even take innocent lives.
