      Janie felt jealousy rarely, but she did watching the “chunky girl” interact with tea cake. But she also realized how much better tea cake was then the rest.

      Janie had less trust in Tea cake from this. But soon she would thank him (next chapter foreshadowing)

      Tea cake wanted to teach Janie how to play checkers, he thought she would very good at the game.
