    1. I thought perhaps I might not load the gun in full view. Givesthe game away too soon. . . . If you are loading a gun it is prettyobvious that you will be using it sooner or later. And whatabout the piano? Why not play it? But she’s too unsettled to sitdown. So, I ran the butt of the gun down the keys. An uglysound.

when watching a movie or play, if you witness the character loading their firearm, it gives away any type of suspense. with the piano also being in the room, its too much of a scene filled with so much tension to just be sitting down. the playwright wanted the character to pace around the room i assume, hold the pistol in their hand and run the pistol against the piano keys as a way to show that the character is physically in the room but not mentally there.

    2. As a playwright I try to do many things: explore theform, ask questions, make a good show, tell a good story, ask more questions, take nothing for granted

I believe what the writer is trying to tell us is there are many steps into making a good play. he narrows it down to these steps and takes whatever criticism and advice he can get and runs along with it. not taking anything to heart.

    1. the point of tragedy in poems, isn't to make the reader/listener feel fear. The whole point is to make the reader/listener feel sorrow/compassion for what is going on in the poem

    2. Coniedy is, as we said, representation of people who are in-ferior but not wholly vicious: the ridiculous is one category of the embarrassing. What is ridiculous is some error or .embarrass-35 ment-that is neither painful nor life-threatening; for example, a comic mask is ugly and distorted but does not cause pain

Comedy was first seen as embarrassing. Although it was neither life threatening or painful, (E.g, "a comic mask is ugly and distorted but does not cause pain.) it wasn't serious to many since there is no real meaning behind it.
