    1. I like the idea of including a timeline.

Such a great addition! Like everyone else, I really appreciated how it showed his learning development over the course of the project.

Hi Mike! Thanks for sharing your presentation with us! I'd seen Terraria played before, and as it so closely resembles Minecraft, I've always found it interesting. I appreciated the run-down of the site you gave, as it allowed me a greater understanding of your space. The space is very large, as you said, and I find myself wondering how you determine who is playing in this space? Are there any demographics? You spent a lot of your time observing, and this is great because you really became knowledgable about the culture in this space. You may not have been a Terraria expert, but you really were a Terraria Forum Expert! It looks like you had some success with your post, and it's great you got a moderator to step in and help you as well! This shows leadership in the space, which is a Gee and Hayes indicator. There's also an indication of information sharing, what you called "teaching the noobies" and this is yet another Gee and Hayes indicator. This also seems a very "safe" place. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us. I really enjoyed it!

      Hey Melanie!

I had considered joining a Reddit Affinity Space early on, but got a little nervous as I started. I'm glad someone else joined a Reddit Affinity Space so I could learn a bit more about how the platform works, so thanks for that!

I'm really glad you also used this space as a well to work on your professional development. It's so great to find a new resource for teaching. I know it helps me!

It seems like your affinity space is really collaborative. This of course comes from being in a teacher-engaged space. It's great that everyone helps everyone out, even with math problems. The different creative uses of this site is also really neat. I like songs about math...it's a STEM/STEAM connection, and I think it really helps with learning.

I'm glad you received feedback from your affinity space members as well. It's obvious your learning was generated in this space. You really became a part of the community. Setting goals for yourself also seemed to work.

I do wonder, did you "produce" like you said? Were you able to deliver a lesson to someone else that the found useful? I know this is a great way to learn with others. I wish you the best of luck as you continue on in this space!!

      Hi Kait!

This has been the most interesting presentation I've see so far! I liked how you are using a platform you are learning on to engage in your space. I must say, I've never heard of this Affinity Space, and it's really interesting.

I like how this space uses real-life media platforms (Facebook, email, etc.) to engage with each other. This shows how everyone's roles are reciprocal, and taken very seriously.

This space also seems very friendly to one another, as stories are built literally through connections with other people. Like you said, it would be bad from to hijack the story for one's personal gain. This affinity space thrives on participation perhaps even more than any other affinity space.

I did wonder, is this space mostly for storywriters and character developers? It seems like a good space to create interesting characters.

Thanks for sharing your presentation with us! And cool idea!! :)

    1. The game play was geared towards 4-8 year old.  It was straight forward and there was no need for any instructions.

I have really fond memories of playing games like this when I was really young...especially the elephant/ butterfly catching game! I think the opportunity for kids to have early learning (counting, colors, shapes, etc.) is so important.

    1. A rethought, positive vision of gamification, then, is that of a critical, transformative, socio-technical sys-tems design practice for motivational affordances in the service of human flourishing – in a word, eudaimonic design

This is the longest string of 10 dollar words I've ever seen. Holy cow.

    1. We use gamification activities to motivate employees to be more active on social media and foster employee advocacy as a whole

Have you noticed this at all in your own line of work?

    1. The two decks used to play: The deck on the left is a fire deck the deck on the right is a water deck

Are these decks kept separate? Or are they mixed? Maybe a dumb question but I am very new to this type of game!
