    1. While predominately used by educators, non-profits, and government organizations, others also utilize and contribute to OER materials.

      OER are great because they can help make education more affordable too! People across higher education have slowly but intentionally been adopting OER to address the rising costs of textbooks and course materials.

      I helped create OER at the high school level as part of my Master's capstone to address the problem of course material affordability and the time it takes to lead up to lesson preparation, and I think they are a great educational solution (alongside Creative Commons) for people looking to use them!

    1. They make learning anytime-anywhere much more practical. Wi-fi networks and high-bandwidth cell phone networks make using phones and tablets practical in almost any location

      Accessibility is, in my opinion, one of the most important things that makes mobile learning stand out as a methodology in my opinion. Many people have smartphones and tablets but not computers, and therefore making sure that they are included in the eLearning experience is incredibly important -- if they're not able to access learning, then you're missing a key demographic.

    1. You’re not supposed to get it right the first time out the gate.

      In my few years working in education, this has been very hard for me to learn. When working on my podcasting & video production workshops at UW, the librarian mentoring me always recommended to "focus on performance and not perfection" when developing a project or workshop.
