In education, when we challenge an idea, we suggest that there is room for imagining another way of thinking
This approach is more about listening. Also accepting differing views and building on, with or away from them, rather than shooting them down and creating polarisation. It makes me think of when the Occupy movement happened and lots of criticism (in London) was that there was no solid alternative or plan mapped out by the movement. But the beauty of the movement was that it established modes of learning and exploring ideas rather than concrete outcomes.
After all, it is very clear that those who formulate the questions produce the playing field.

The Tate Modern comes to mind as an example of how a museum can function as an entertainment machine that celebrates “critique lite.” Instead, I want to think of education in terms of the places to which we have access.
Not sure what is meant exactly by "critique lite"? The Tate gives an impression (in the education programme) that artists and learners can be bold and experimental with their work but they (the directors) are known for censoring artists who critique their funders. Recently Jade Monsterrat and in the past a group that is now known as Liberate Tate

failure can mean being vulnerable - how can we create learning spaces where vulnerability (and fear of the unknown) are accepted and carried?
The access that was given was not aimed at producing institutional critique or exposing the true realities of the institution
Should they ignore this though? How can you, when the true realities are part of the how people function in the institution? Perhaps this will become clear why this was left out
Both these terms seem important for mobilizing any re-evaluation of education, as they allow us to expand the spaces and activities that house such processes. Similarly, they allow us to think of “learning” as taking place in situations or sites that don’t necessarily intend or prescribe such activity.

Building in failure is important-public arts funding (in the UK) is mostly adverse to failure and this can lead to projects finishing shiny and polished due to a fear that they will not be funded again.

At this moment in time, there are a lot of calls to pull the institution down and start again. Reform and reflection has happened lots throughout history and institutions slip into the same positions of oppressive hierarchical power. One example commenting and supporting this is The White Pube
