Over the years texting has become something that many people tend to do as they go on through their day. However, now that we are entering a new decade we now see that people are shifting towards interacting with one another through the use of cameras (facetime) and audio messages.
What’s more, if there’s only one style, there’s no opportunity for meaning-doubling or style-shifting, the richest social parts of a conversation.
Everyone has their own way of expressing themselves and so to say that there is only one way of writing, "the right way, is absurd.
Rather, it’s that we’re more used to employing a broad range of styles in face-to-face communication.
Prior to technology the only form of what we considered "real communication" was face to face interaction but as technology developed over time, we were introduced to a new form of communication. One that was still new to us. Texting.
I also may hold conferences with each student individually during regular class time in my office in lieu of a formal class meeting.
This is quite helpful as not many professors take additional time out of their day to help students.
