After college and amongst friends, we might even bond over the kinds of grades we got
This is especially true from my personal experience. I find it comforting when someone else has similar struggles in a class. It also aids in creating a bond between me and that person. Having those experiences of disliking a class can act as a magnet bringing two people into friendship.

* Grades tend to diminish students’ interest in whatever they’re learning.
This snippet of the article was especially relatable for me. In most of my classes/subjects the reason I have disliked or found something boring is the grading aspect. In essence, I tend to associate those subjects with the grades I receive in them. In return this has contributed to me disliking certain classes due to struggling with them in the past.
