Instead of 48 hour notice, change it to 24 hour notice. Reason being, if you fall ill or have an emergency the night before and can't make it to class you wouldn't have known 2 days in advance.

If a student knows they will be late or unable to attend class, can they email you their work, or should they wait until the next class to submit it (assuming they have already emailed you about missing class)?
