    1. hrough automatic management, there is little employee discretion over tasks, and almost no communication with an actual supervisor who might train or coach the worker to improve

This puts people at a stand still. Without a mentor, regardless of the field, it is hard to improve. You could almost say it is a complete time waster. They have no way to grow and on top of it all, could lose the job in a moment.

    1. "The Social Radar."

This quality that Jessica has definitely helped her reach her success. She was able to detect bullshit and peels those away from the group. The start ups she funded also benefited because she was able to create a work environment for all of her founders that consisted of smart and hard working people.

    2. Find a cofounder with complementary skills, but the same moral compass as you.

Jessica and her husband paul do a great job representing this, they each has their own unique set of skills that played off one another. It feels like he dealt with the more technological side of things while she focused on the social aspect. Part of the reason why I think their company was so successful is because they were able to display great teamwork and leadership to the rest of the founders. This undoubtably created a more positive work environment for the rest of the staff.

    1. The book became abestseller in 1999, at the height of the dot-com boom

Disruptive innovation is only a theory but, due to the timing of the dot-com boom it makes this theory appear to be more like law. However, I do agree with this theory that business that are on top are concerned with staying on top that they forget how important innovation is. A prime example of this is Uber to the taxi industry. If we also look not too far to the future the VR/AI market is said to increase to 215 Billion USD by 2021 according to https://www.iotforall.com.

    1. “Today I run a venture capital firm and back the next generation of innovators who are, as I was throughout my earlier career, dead-focused on eating your lunch,”

If you do not stay on top of your game and, think of the next cool big thing then, someone else will. A great thought to keep in the back of your head when trying to find motivation

    2. Disruptive innovation is a theory about why businesses fail

I think an important take away from this article is the idea of disruptive innovation. While going through this course I think it is important to keep in mind the possibilities that can come from this. Creating a complelty differen/newt market is not an easy task but, it has clearly been done before. I believe disruptive innovation is at the core of disruptive entrepreneurship if they are not already linked

    1. ngaging audiences is more involved than counting web page views or social media shares. The depth of engagement is what will convert readers into donors, advertisers, content contributors, or volunteers

For more than a decade, how we receive information has drastically changed. The 100% media penetrated society we live in today calls for a deeper level of engagement. In order to win true supporters, it must come off to the readers as genius innovation with pure intentions behind it. When talking about your new idea you can not say it is revolutionary, it must come off as this life changing idea to reach genuine engagement.
