In the sense of economic injustice, Equity Unbound makes a range of curated learning resources and activities accessible to anyone for free, and addresses cultural injustice and political injustice in the choices of materials, guests and facilitators, as well as themes
I think it is also interesting that this site came out in 2020 when teachers were isolated and needed support. Many did not have centers for teaching and learning so this would have been a wonderful resource to use then...and now!

Equity Unbound
This is such a fantastic resource.

challenge
I agree here. I have tried this in my classes and students love it. They often tell me they feel they learned the most with this activity when I ask for feedback.

This is so important. I like the phrase: provide a gateway, don't be a gatekeeper.

Student-created OER/content
I read some research by Harrison and Mulstaid (2023) who studied student perceptions of OP. One of the interesting things they found was that many students felt more comfortable when faculty had final say/vetting of their product before publishing.

Contrary to the popular adage that kids these days don’t care about privacy, young people are rightfully concerned about how platforms’ extraction/use of their data impacts them, including (maybe especially) platforms they encounter in their schools.
I think about this when I teach in Zoom. I have heard that there are students who are living in cars and do not want to ever be on camera. I think we as faculty need to have conversations about the role of the camera in our classrooms, especially if we are recording it (which I do for UDL purposes). Is there research that points to cameras and more engagement in the classroom? Does it matter? There is much to explore as we move forward.

We are always looking for material that contains Indigenous voices. I am currently using a text that has a narrative from an Indigenous woman who at the beginning of each chapter. It would be great to see more examples of materials like this.

People are more likely to watch a video than read a paper report.
My Chair does video updates and they have been successful. I can see how this makes sense especially now in this pandemic when we are in information overload.

your group tends to vote on every little thing, switch to a Consent Agenda format. A consent agenda will help you get all the little stuff out of the way quickly, leaving time for the group to talk about the important stuff – the future of your community!
We use a consent agenda and it has been a very beneficial part of our meetings as we have a large department.

I think this is so important. I find that many faculty I work with are overloaded given the last 2 years of pivoting to remote adapted teaching. It has been hard to discuss yet another "thing" to do.
