Victor and Clerval travel through England and Scotland as Victor prepares to create a second creature. Although Clerval enjoys the journey, Victor is anxious and isolated, feeling the weight of his promise to the monster. Eventually, he separates from Clerval to work alone in the remote Orkney Islands.
