      This doesn't exactly pertain to the article but this also just shows that just like everyone else in a community don't always agree. Just because they have the same culture doesn't mean all their beliefs are the same

      This reminds me of how when we talked in class with state vs federal treaties. That if the treaty was never signed off by federal government than the document being presented has little to no meaning.

    1. Its interesting to hear from a primary source what the Penobscot river was like. Growing up in Maine I've never heard of it being a vast and plentiful place to catch Salmon, but it makes sense because he believes its all the "macheens" and "evil" that came around in 1809 and took notice in the decline in 1813, and only worsening from the date of this writing in 1822.

    1. pg 132. I find it very interesting that they are still taught the dominant English language before theirs or with their mother tongue because it makes it even harder for them to comprehend and understand both languages. Which may give themselves a poor self image.

Because before this article I never heard of this finding and I live very close to Kennebunk, so I'm not sure how this would expand the capacity for costal surveys if the general public hasn't heard of it

      I think its very interesting that they can learn so much from archaeology. It amazes me that they are able to connect pieces to stories and create an image to tell history.
