      Personal assumption, fear, and biases hinder the progress of ethnic studies and students. Without stepping foot in the classroom or speaking with educators personal biases and fears will be hard to navigate. How are teachers and students protected from this? Are there any systems in place for individuals to access the resources necessary to be successful?

      This is really interesting. How may we take into consideration students' rights when in this area of study. Do students know their rights and is that a priority for schools?

      I am curious to see what kind of resources or support will teachers be provided in order to achieve this standard. Will there be aids, language support, or any forms of training provided?

      not only are they able to see themselves in history but the likeliness of graduation rates, GPA, and engagement will naturally increase

      I wonder where they will source information on these texts and if they will include previously banned books?

      It is interesting to see it being held under submission for a year and it still not passing

    1. inability to “fundraise” and completely avoiding the issue of under funding that our college faces

      similar to the question i asked above. How will these schools/districts be supported. It seems like most of what I am reading are approvals and support but there is no action stated about providing funding, training, or even qualified candidates

      Many of these letters of support states how most public/charter schools 9-12 are encouraged to incorporate the model curriculum but what support will each school/district have in order to successfully implement and continue this area of study?

      It is interesting how ethnic studies will fall under social science and english electives. What about in other areas such as math and science to help close opportunity and achievement gaps?

      By utilizing students' funds of knowledge such as their culture, identity, language, and experiences we can help students see themselves in the curriculum and in turn create more meaningful work
