I did really enjoy reading this section of the paper. While we walk into scary, unknown times and what we see in the media only gets bleaker and more regressive, there is still progress being made. What feminist groups have been able to accomplish thats been noted in this paper and otherwise is significant, and is promising. I can get become anxious after reading papers like this, but I really liked that this article provided forms of resistance and what we can do to counter the threats to human rights.

It's interesting that tradwife influencers are able to tap into peoples frustrations with capitalism and instead of create a push back towards capitalism, they retreat to a reliance on the patriarchy. Where does capitalism come from? Who formed these institutions? Where is the recognition that capitalism works in tandem with the patriarchy? That capitalist ideals, and patriarchal ideals are the same? I can understand as a woman it can sometimes feel like the only option to escape the rat race is to submit to someone who can provide for you, but there needs to be a deeper dissection of how marriage is also an institution and are these women aware of the contract they are signing?

While the resignation of woman from politics is largely concerning and scary, I think it's important to note that women remove themselves from all spaces because of concern for their safety. I personally resigned a co-op at a guitar store in high school that I was initially so excited to work at because the men running the business made the space feel very unwelcome and unsafe. Not only can woman not safely be apart of the political systems that affect their rights, but even job opportunities, clubs and extracurriculars, and participating in culture are not always safe spaces too.

It's quite an obvious way to pull power towards an authoritarian government, and away from the people. However, in practice it's much less easy to spot, especially when there is so much fear mongering and social media spreading ideas faster than ever. It's also difficult to understand that a lack of trust between groups also means a lack of empathy and care for one another.
