    1. important to get these things right

I think we need to consider what it is that we need to get right. There are benefits to using AI, it's really how we use it. There will always be people who abuse the system.

    2. transferable skills

Transferable skills are skills that can be taken from one job to another. Some of these skills are communicating and solving problems or even working as a team. These are all skills that I do not think a computer can do successfully.

    3. existing research indicates

Where does he get this existing research? What do you think AI would come up with? I wonder if they would provide a biased response because it wants more people to use its program.

    4. ChatGPT

When the internet first came out people were very concerned with the safety of using the internet and how it would change the world. The internet is something that most people now use on a daily basis.

    6. Today’s “career and technical education” is yesterday’s “vocational education,” though not really.

I do not feel this is the case as we are implementing more trades programs into the school system, similar to the vocational model “trades schools.”

    7. “vocational” education

People say that "Vocational" education is the past. But in years past parents used to push their children to go into the trades. I feel that more parents are starting to encourage their children to go into the trades once again.

    10. All this matters because existing research indicates CTE participation can be stratified by race, gender, income, and rurality.

I agree with this statement because people will need to have access to the best CTE to produce the best work.

    11. CTE focuses on equipping high school and community college students with technical skills that are closely tethered to specific workforce applications

I think that some of the curriculum content needs to be even more geared to workforce applications. For example, I think the Construction program should be based around learning skills to be successful in the construction area as a whole, not just woodworking.

    12. CTE is a push to better integrate academic content within technical learning contexts.

I agree with this statement that there should be more integration with technology within the academic setting. For example, English teachers could incorporate procedures of building projects in their classroom.

    13. To begin, jobs requiring skills that are difficult to automate with available technologies are at lower risk of automation.

I agree that computer programs can do some jobs, but one could argue that many education technology based careers require critical thinking. For example, when one measurement is off, a person needs critical thinking skills to fix the following measurements. Yes, a computer can measure but what if the ground is not flat, this could throw off all the measurements.

    14. To what degree can automation affect the career outcomes of graduates of CTE programs?

Some jobs can be filled by automation, however, a computer cannot build large scale items, such as a bridge.

    15. certain syntax-based statistical package

The other day I was watching the news and they were discussing how scientists are now able to conduct research so much faster to make new medications based on their findings. This is great, but when people hurry to get things done, they often miss things and mistakes happen.

    16. I’ve spent years learning to write such code, to middling ability

The author has spent many years focusing on learning to write code. When I think of this, it makes me think about how other students will have more time to focus on content instead of the skill of writing the code.
