Teachers plan and implement a numeracy and literacy-focused enrichment period for students three times each week. The purpose of the Mission Annex is to provide students with a practice and “tinkering” space around key math and ELA con-cepts related to a domain’s Discovery Mission.
It seems like they are just rotating activities that they believing students need, individual interests' doesn't seem to big of a factor. Only in High school or early college this seems useful where they can take an initiative to learn skills that "may be necessary" in their field of study or work.

Games or programs can be used to recreate and reflect on why things are the way they are and the significance.

Students might play a role-play-ing game where they have to choose to play both a “good” and “bad” character and compare differences in strategy, choice, and values held by those characters.
Learning could be done in many different ways such as finding out in game that there is objects or things that are objectively better. While other things or objects may be subjectively better usually based on a case through case bases.

In this scenario, games are used to create an experiential context for understanding around a topic, issue, or principle that a teacher can build on.
The purpose of the main engine or tool may be simply fro entertainment but a new usage or purpose can be used for learning purposes.

The bases of the game is used for one of its most prominent features to understand how it works in real life or in other areas.

He found time to work on his clubhouse movies in school, storyboarding scenes during free time. He found an elective class in school where they used iMovie. As part of the class he worked with a group of peers to create a movie, all participants taking on roles of actors, scriptwriters, and directors.
If the interest is there one will make the effort to chase and become more involved in order to improve and also pique their interest at the same time. Causing the to "geek out"

Images of black people, more than anyone else, are primed to go viral and circulate widely online — in trauma, in death, and in memes.
At least for me I really don't purposely look for a gif of a black person, I just use whatever relates what I'm feeling, wether its the bruh guy, confused swaggy p or Micheal Scott. How those pictures trend and appear in front of us is something beyond the consumers and most possibly the producers or creators where algorithms run everything.
